Prof. Nestor O. Rañeses is currently the Director of the UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries at the same time an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (College of Engineering) and an Affiliate Faculty on Total Quality Management (Technology Management Center) at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. He finished his MS degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of the Philippines - Diliman and his PhD degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prof. Rañeses is also the Research Project Consultant for the Innovation Development Program at the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation, Inc. and the Executive Director of the Small Research and Development Foundation, Inc. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in the area of systems integration, TQM, lean six sigma, process optimization and world class manufacturing technology. He is an active advocate of TRIZ melded into the other approaches of problem solving methodologies.
Dr. Celso B. Co is currently an Assistant Professor of Electronic Engineering at Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University. He is a project leader of Hitachi Proposal No. 2, one of the three Hitachi-driven research projects under the R&D program proposal for Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing Technology Research and Innovation program (SEMTRIP), a subtrack of the Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) R&D Projects." He earned his PhD and MS degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering at De La Salle University. He completed his BS degree in ECE in the University of Santo Tomas in 1977 and landed 3rd place in the Board Exam. He worked in Intel Corporation from 1984-2004 and was instrumental in advancing TRIZ practices in the Semiconductors and Electronics Industry in the Philippines (SEIPI). Dr. Co was recognized as registered ASEAN in 2003 and APEC Engineer 2005.
Engr. Florencio M. Apolinar, Jr. is currently the president of ADDMorE Business Solutions Inc., a consulting and technology development company which he formed together with his colleagues in ASEMEP. On a part time basis, he lectures at the Ateneo de Manila University's ECCE and Chemistry Department. He obtained his BS degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas. He has more than 29 years experience in the Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing industry. He has held various positions at the Semiconductor Devices Philippines Inc. (or SDPI), Signetics Filipinas Inc., Phillips Components Philippines Inc. and Intel Corporation. Engr. Apolinar was formerly the Chairman of the Association of Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing Engineers of the Philippines (ASEMEP) in 2005 to 2006.
Dr. Felicito S. Caluyo is currently the Dean of the School Electrical Engineering-Electronics and Communications Engineering-Computer Engineering (EE-ECE-CoE) at the Mapua Institute of Technology. He earned his PhD and MS degrees in Electronics and Communications from the Universite de Limoges in France. He also obtained a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He was a full professor at the De La Salle University and former Chair of the ECE Department, DLSU College of Engineering. Dr. Caluyo was also a MERALCO distinguished Professorial Chair on Electronics and Communications Engineering from 1990 to 2006. He has co-authored books in computer programming and numerical methods. He has delivered lecture series to several universities and colleges.
