2nd Symposium on Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ)

The UPD Master of Science in Industrial Engineering students of the Department of  Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, College of Engineering Production Systems Track and the UP Institute for Small Scale industries (UP ISSI) will be holding its 2nd Symposium on Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) at 3rd Floor E. Virata Hall, UP ISSI, E. Jacinto Street, UP Diliman Campus, Quezon City on March 17, 2011, Thursday, 12:30 to 5:30 PM. The theme of the Symposium is Better Solutions Beyond Possibilities ( “Thinking Outside the Box or from Another Box “ ).

The Symposium aims to promote and proliferate the use of TRIZ as an innovative methodology in discovering solutions to problems by overcoming physical and technical contradictions and eliminating compromises. Real world applications will be presented to motivate better appreciation of the approach.

The target participants of the Symposium are engineering students, faculty, researchers, practicing engineers, and professionals who are interested in discovering innovative solutions beyond the conventional constrained solution space with the use of TRIZ. The Symposium will feature four resource speakers from both the academe and the industry who will discuss and present the TRIZ methodology and applications.
